Infertility and Diabetes

Diabetes is a condition in which there is too much glucose (a sugar that is the body’s main source of energy) in the blood. If undetected or not controlled, diabetes can cause complications both in the short term and long term.
It is important to keep your blood glucose level in control. But it is the most important when you are planning to start a family. Recent reports have shown that diabetes can cause infertility in males.

How diabetes affect fertility?

In men, diabetes is known to cause certain medical issues that make conception difficult or not possible without treatment. These conditions include erectile dysfunction, retrograde ejaculation, retarded (delayed) ejaculation, low sperm quality, and low testosterone, also known as hypogonadism.
